The North Bay Railway is proud to be featured on two videos produced by the National Apprenticeship Service, demonstrating the work undertaken by our apprentice Stephen Johnson, who continues to be a real asset to the railways day-to-day operation.

Just around the corner from the historic North Bay Railway, is the stunning Scarborough Open Air Theatre, Europe's largest, which after a period of dormancy, reopened this Summer by HM the Queen, with some fantastic events alreadylined up, and many more to come, with 10 Major Shows over the Summer Period.

The theatre will re-open on Friday the 23rd of July with a spectacular gala concert starring Jose Carreras and Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, of which tickets can be bought from us at the North Bay Railway.

The Glass House Bistro is adjacent to the Theatre making it the perfect setting for a delicious pre-show meal or for interval drinks, snacks and ice creams. Book your meal now to avoid disappointment.

We have outside seating for 30, so why not join use and relax with a glass of wine in our pleasant surroundings?

Partnership between North Bay Railway and Yorkshire Coast College - 3rd June 2010

The North Bay Railway is very pleased to have worked with Yorkshire Coast College engineering students, to produce new suspension units to replace the old "leaf" springs on our rolling stock, which were prone to breakage

Managing director Lesley Humpheys said: "Our chief engineer Graham Duncan made contact with Yorkshire Coast College. We needed the new suspension units, and the college wanted a real project for their students. It was a perfect match. The students have done a fantastic job. It's an opportunity for them to get involved in industry and the local business community, and we get the benefit of their work and enthusiasm. It's a marriage made in heaven, and we look forward to continuing our relationship with the college."
